  • How much time do I have to decide what to do?
Generally, you are given just thirty (30) days from the time you receive a traffic citation to tell the court how you wish to proceed with your ticket. If you take longer, late fees may apply and your License may get suspended.
  • How does the process work?
As your attorney, we will handle everything. We will enter a plea of not guilty on your behalf, attend any and all court dates, and write you a letter with the result.
  • Why not just pay the fine?
If you choose not to contest the ticket and pay the fine, you are automatically pleading guilty. You will be assessed points if the ticket is a moving violation, leading to higher insurance rates. Even if the ticket is a non-moving violation, a conviction will be recorded on your driving record and you will lose your “Safe Driver” status, which is an important endorsement that should be protected. This may also cause your insurance rates to increase.
  • Why not just attend traffic school?
If you choose to elect traffic school, you will still have to pay the face amount of the ticket. In addition, you will have to pay for traffic school and spend either 4 or 8 hours in a class. The ticket will still appear on your record, and there are limits to the number of times you can elect the traffic school option.
  • Why not fight the ticket in court yourself?
You may have to attend court on at least two occasions, spending MANY hours each time waiting for your case to be heard. You will also be uncertain regarding the best defense to offer in your case.
  • Will I receive points on my driving record?
No one can guarantee that you will not receive points under any circumstances. However, we are so sure that you won’t receive points on a citation that we will refund our attorney’s fees in full if you do. Certain conditions apply – please call for an explanation.
  • Do I have to come to your office?
No. You can hire us over the telephone.
  • How much do you charge?
Our fee for a traffic Citation in Broward County starts at $60. Dade County is slightly more. Our fees vary depending on severity and complexity of the case.
  • Will there be any additional costs other than your fee?
Our goal is to get your ticket DISMISSED. If this happens, there is nothing further you need to pay or do. If we cannot get the ticket dismissed, there will be a state-mandated court fee assessed. We understand that you do not want to incur this cost. However, our primary concern is avoiding the points and the traffic school.
  • How long will this take?
The process generally takes anywhere from 1 to 4 months. Your license will NOT be suspended while the case is pending with the court.
  • Can you still help even if my license is suspended?
Yes! We can reinstate your license and have you driving again, generally within 24 hours.
